First Family Vacation

We went on our first family vacation this month. I was really concerned because, as many of you know, Jake doesn't sleep anywhere but his bed. Well, he did great. We stayed at Brandy's house in Houston and he slept wonderfully! We stayed at a hotel in Galveston and he slept wonderfully. The car...well, the car is another story. What kid doesn't sleep in the car you ask? Mine! He slept for about 30 minutes and only because he was on Dramamine. And even doped up he had to gaze off in a stupor for 30 minutes before he actually slept. Poor kid gets car sick though, so what else can you expect. Anyway, the vacation was a blast! We had so much fun together. We went to Houston and stayed with Brandy, then the next morning we went to the NASA Space Center. It was so much fun. Jake was in heaven...

He got to meet a storm trooper! He was a little nervous, because as you know, the storm troopers are bad guys...

There were alot of things we couldn't really take pics of. Too dark, or it was a movie, and so on. It was a good time though. I would tell anyone one they should go.



Then it was off to the beach the next day. He LOVED it. Especially the waves. When we were driving in it was all he could do to contain himself. He kept saying "there it is! And we're gonna go there! We're gonna see fish!..." and on and on. We just laughed and laughed at his adorable enthusiasm! It was like seeing the beach for the first time ourselves. What fun!

At first he was a bit nervous about going in, so I gently held his hand and told him it would be ok... Then some waves his him and he thought it was the most hilarious thing in the entire world. He got so excited! He would point and scream, joyfully at the top of his lungs..."Here comes another wave!" We couldn't stop laughing. I wish we had gotten it on video!

We had such a nice time together as a family. It was nice to slow down and just enjoy each others company. I look forward to the next vacation even more, knowing how much fun it really is!
