Wasp Sting

I was outside playing when Mommy heard me crying...she rushed to me and saw a nasty red welt with a tiny drop of blood. I was stung by a wasp. It hurt really bad and swelled up to the size of a quarter. The pictures don't do it justice... I was brave and stopped crying quickly though!

Izzy came for a visit!

Izzy came for some play time today and we had a blast. I dressed up like Buzz Lightyear, and she was a Fairy Princess...AND WE BOTH HAD WINGS! We played trains, hide from the monster, went fishing, played with cars, tools, and lots more stuff. We also had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with apple slices and apple juice for lunch, and Mommy gave us Oreos for desert! Here we are all dressed up with lots of hugs and kisses!

The things kids say!

I checked on him before I went to bed and he was sound asleep with his blanket over his head!

Jake has always been a good talker, but he is starting to talk like an adult now. He is sooo funny! Here are some stories that I never wanted to forget...

Jake was sick and had diarrhea. He was going and going and GOING. I was so tired of it. He woke up at 5 am with a dirty diaper, and I was really sleepy. I was just talking to myself more than him when I said "Good God man, how much poop do you have in you?" Jake puts his finger on his chin, and says very thoughtfully..."Mmmm....Maybe two." Which cracked me up and made the whole day go much smoother.

Jake is in a different pre-school for summer and I was asking him what he liked about it vs. his old school. He talked about it for a little bit, but when I asked him some specific questions he says, "Mommy, can we talk about this later? I'm trying to play with my Darth Vader mask..." Where do they come up with these things?

The other day I asked him where his juice was and he says, "Well, I had it earlier, but I can't seem to find it now." So grown up!!!

I can't wait to hear what's next!

My Little John John...

My Little John is now married... doesn't he look handsome and in love? He married Hiromi last Saturday. I soooo wish I could have been there.... A little misty, I can't believe he's all grown up. Thanks for being an awesome little brother John! May God bless you and Hiromi, and may your marriage be filled with His love.

Really behind...

I got really behind on my blogging, so here are a ton of things that were momentous or just fun in Jake's life...

BIGGEST LITTLE THING TO HAPPEN IN JAKE'S LIFE SO FAR!

Jake's baby cousin Ashley was born! This is his first meeting.

He thought she was really cute, but he didn't want to hold her...

Potty Training is going well, and he loves his new underwear! He wouldn't let me put his clothes on over them!

Jake's school show....

Smiling for the crowd!

He sat through a bunch of it... Silly Goose!

An adorable pic of him with Katie's rabbit, Ruby

This is Mia, Jake's best friend. She moved to Grand Prairie and we don't see her much, but we love it when we do.

I didn't get a good pic of them together, but here they are watching a movie

A rare thing: A snowy morning in Texas.
Jake was watching the snow fall

I have never seen flakes that big...

Jake and his first snowman!

Isn't he cute?

Climbing a hill on the golf course...

It was just beautiful. I haven't seen a snow like that in Texas, in my whole life! I'm so glad Jake got to experience it!

JAKE'S BIG BOY BED
Just from the store, still in the box

Put together!

Trying it out!

Loving his new bed in his room!

New room view!
Jake did great! We had no problems with him getting out of bed at all. He even calls to us in the morning to ask if he can get up. Good Job Jake!!!

This is probably one of my favorite pictures ever. Jake loves his Aunt Sharon so much.

Jake Jargon 2 and half

So, Jake is 2 and a half and really good at it! He's starting to climb, and wrestle and do all the things he was previously too timid to do. Good in some ways, BAD in others.

Lighting Slide

Brian was inside making dinner while watching Jake who was playing outside. A perfectly normal thing around our house. There is a birds eye view from the kitchen... Anyway, Brian looks up and Jake has his ride on Lighting McQueen on the top of the slide. Brian ran out the door while thinking 'Oh this isn't gonna be good!' There is one spot where you can't see the swing, and while running through that spot, Brian hears Bump, bump, bump...."Waaaaa" He runs over and Jake is beside the slide, McQueen is at the bottom. Jake cut his lip, but it wasn't bad. I wasn't home for any of this. The next day I asked him about it, and he said, with a very serious expression, "That was not good!"

Jake has been into Disney's Cars and pretty much nothing else for a year and a half. That is a long time for a 2 year old. We have everything Cars...I am SOOOOO sick of Cars. Well, thank you Mimi for moving Jake along to something new! Jake had to have an MRI (which turned out to be nothing...he was complaining of back pain, that we now think was related to the Lightning/Slide incident.) and it was a bid deal. They had to put him under and it's always scary when that happens. Anyway, Mimi brought him full size Buzz Lightyear Action Figure. He now LOVES Toy Story... And let me tell you, it's a much better movie, AND there are 2 to chose from. The music is great...who doesn't like Randy Newman? And many more toys to chose from... Buzz, Woody, Mr. Potato Head, Dinosaurs, Slinkys, Army men, Etcha Sketches, Piggy Banks...I could go on. Anyway, this was a recent email from me to Brian...

Subject: potato head vs. mater

So we went to wal-mart and Jake said that he wanted a cars car. I told him if they had something new, he could get it. They did. RUSTY MATER!!! So he was excited, and wanted to buy him. I then walked over and saw Mr. Potato Head. I tried to talk Jake into it, but he wanted Mater. So I bought him both. I know it's spoiling him, but it was in hopes of Mr. Potato Head being cooler. It worked! He played for 30 minutes with him and loved it. Mater lay on the floor in a forgotten heap! Yea!!!! TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

LY,
Joy

I know this may seem like a weird thing to blog about...but you have no idea how happy we are about this! And I just read that Toy Story 3 is coming out in 2010!

Questions

Jake has some funny things he asks. One of his favorites: "Does he/she talk?" We think this means that he likes the fact that this person talks to him a lot. Another: "Does he/she have eyes?" We think this means he thinks the person has nice eyes...but who knows...

Friends

Jake and Conan have been playing together a lot lately. The other day, Conan and Makena were both over and they all decided to watch a movie...

Fire Station No. 3

Today we went to visit the McKinney Fire Station house! We had soooo much fun. Jake was really excited about going and so was I! I've never seen a fire truck or a fire station that close up. I also learned about all kinds of stuff! And I am really jealous of that kitchen, man, they have granite counter tops! The fire fighters were really great with the kids, and of course the moms had a nice view! *wink, wink* Anyway, here are the pics!

He's not excited or anything!

Can you say, "Dream come true"?

Learning the ropes....

"This is Fire House No. 3, Come back!"

Sooooo Happy!

This helmet is really heavy!

Ok, your turn!

Miss Katie's turn!

Jake was scared of the mask, so Mommy put it on...

(it smelled like plastic! Yuc!)

My turn Mommy!

Mommy's Fire Fighter

I'm a Fire Man!

This was the entire group. A TON of toddlers as you can see. The Fire Fighters were sooo patient and kind. Thanks Fire Station No. 3!

My New Site

I finally have my card site up! It's a little plain, but I think it highlights the cards quite nicely. I'm going to add the "names" of all the cards eventually. I'm also going to figure out how to add the cards side by side so that they aren't all in a row to the right. I'm also working on the wording of everything, but I think so far so good. What do you think?

Jake Junk

We were at the bounce house with a bunch of friends when a fight broke out. Jake wasn't in the fight, but he runs over to me with this look of concern and says, "Mommy! Help over there!"

Jake was sitting down with his Grandad playing when he stops, looks up and says "Got anything new?" Now, that is a spoiled 2 year old.

Jake got a new pair of Cars shoes that look like little Lightning McQueens. (The main character in Cars the movie for all of you that aren't familiar.) Anyway, the day that he got them, he was in the back seat talking to them while they were on his feet. I looked back and smiled, and he got totally embarrassed!

Ok, everybody's been taking their kids to see this Horton Movie. So I thought, OK it didn't work last time, but...he's older now. It didn't work. Jake is so sensitive. All the excitement and bigness of the screen was just too much. Everything overwhelmed him and made him jump. He lasted approximately 5 minutes. Oh well. We had a ball at the mall yesterday anyway. We played with the Thomas train table at Barns and Nobel. We went to Disney store and bought a really cool Cars night light (on sale 50% off, I might add!). We played at the playground with Ryan. We ate in the food court. And last but not least, we rode the carousel. He LOVES that thing. We had a really good night. I had a chance to just really Enjoy Jake. Sometimes it's hard to do that with a 2 year old. All the correcting starts to get really old, but last night we had so much fun together. At one point we were sitting down having a drink when we both took a drink and went "ahhh" at the same time. It cracked Jake up. He goes "Wanna do that again!?" So we did, and again and again. Each time Jake saying "Wanna do that again!?" We must've done it 20 times, cracking up each time.
