My first real hug!
Jake gave me a hug, without me asking, for the first time yesterday. It was the sweetest thing EVER. I was just sitting outside while he was playing and he came up, put his head on my lap and said "awww..." My heart just melted. I've never had a hug mean so much to me before. It was if the world's troubles no longer mattered because my sweet boy was hugging me.... *sigh* If only we could live in those moments forever....

So there's this cat...
Jake is obsessed with this cat that keeps coming over. It's really sweet, and isn't agressive towards Jake at all, he won't even let him touch her! Of course it's skinny and I feel sorry for it. I made the fatal mistake and fed it once...so now it's over all the time. I haven't fed it since, but we'll see how long it takes me to give in. Anyway, here are some pics of Jake and his favorite pet!

Sweet Memories

Sweet Memories: These are some moments that I wanted to write down so that I could remember them forever.
Dive-bombing Daddy! I wasn't around for this one, but Brian told me about it. Brian was lying on the floor and Jake came up to play with him. Then he started blowing slurberts on Brian's belly. He would go from a standing position and just attack with all his might! Too funny.
Awwww! Jake was eating breakfast while Brian and I were in the kitchen. Brian came up behind me and gave me a hug, and we hear "Awwww!" We couldn't contain our laughter.
Bang! We took a walk on the golf course together as a family. Jake made up a new game: We would run to some object (a tree, bench...) and then he would bang it with an empty can. We had so much fun, just running around. He would ask for our help on the big hills, and run like crazy and laugh.
Dig, dig, dig! Jake loves to dig in the sand traps on the golf course. He digs and we say "dig, dig, dig" and he thinks it's the most hilarious thing ever...
Yaw-eee! Jake started saying Yea and pronounced it Yaw-eeee! It's so cute!

Sweet hummings

Ok, I sing to Jake every night before bed. It's apart of our routine. Bath, change clothes, prayers, sing and rock, bed. Anyway, the other night I didn't sing because I was really tired and so was he, so I figured I would just rock him for a minute and put him to bed. Well, he started humming. It was the sweetest thing EVER! Then I sang a line and he would hum after me. How cute can one kid get? It's amazing how great being a mom is. If I had heard that story before becoming a mom, I wouldn't have thought much of it...but now, oh man....it melts my heart.
Thanks for being the sweetest kid a mom could ever ask for Jake!
I love you! And keep humming!!!

First Temper Tantrum!
Well, I threw my first tantrum today...at the toy store(of course!) Mommy and I were on our way up to the front to buy this really cool dump truck. Well Mommy decided to stop and look at something, so I decided I would go back to the toy area by myself! When Mommy came after me, she said no and took my hand to lead me back, but I decided right then and there to let my legs go limp and scream bloody murder...right in the middle of the store. So do you know what my mommy did? She picked me up, put the dump truck away and walked right out the front door. Then she told me that if I throw fits, I don't get anything. Wasn't that mean?! So I screamed all the way to the car, the whole time I was getting in my car seat, and while mommy got in the car. Then as we drove away, I wailed in my most pitiful voice, "Truck, Bye Bye!"

Doing better
Well, Jake is recovering nicely. He still has breathing treatments once a day, but the doc is going to take him off at the end of the week. He's not coughing near as much either! Yea!!! Here's a pic of him getting his treatment.

Doesn't Brian look evil about the whole thing!!! I told him to quit smiling, but the card was full, so we didn't get any more pics of him.
He's calmed down with the treatments now too. He tolerates them with no issues, other than being a little squirmy.
Here are some more pics that I thought were cute!

Like bronchiolitis isn't enough!
OK, so I forgot to add something to the blog yesterday. This story isn't so cute. Anyway, after leaving the Doctor's office, which had been quite traumatic anyway, (did I mention he hates his breathing treatments?) we get in the elevator. Well my hands are full with the nebulizer, a bag filled with nebulizer equipment, and his diaper bag, so I put him down beside me. Right as the door closes, Jake puts his hand out...so I grab is other had and pull him back. I didn't pull him back fast enough and the elevator closed on his fingers, not only that, but THE STUPID THING DIDN'T LET GO OF HIS FINGERS! We had to wait until the thing got down to the bottom floor to let go. It's amazing how fast you think, because I was thinking "should I press the stop button? No, that'll take longer to let go! We'll just have to wait!" So of course I dropped everything all over the elevator, and comfort Jake as much as I can while his fingers are being squished...poor baby. We end up riding the elevator again because I'm calming him down. In the mean time a girl stepped onto the elevator (I say girl, she was in her 20's) and she's about to cry, asking me if his fingers are broken! His fingers move and everything is OK, but it did rip some skin. So who do I talk to about this? I mean aren't these things supposed to have sensors? What if it had been his arm and his hand was stuck on the next floor?! I just know that from now on, I am in between Jake and door!

Sick again...
Well, Jake is at home this week due to brochiollitis. He has to get breathing treatments, and he HATES them. I mean he really hates them...he screams the entire time...did I mention he hates them. There is a really funny story with all this though! Yesterday when we were at the Doctor's office, she was checking his breathing. While she was doing this she was trying to occupy him by asking him to point to different parts of his body; nose, mouth, eyes, belly, ect... Anyway, during a really quiet time, he takes his hand and smacks it in the middle of her forehead exclaiming, "Head!" She doesn't know what he's saying because he says something more like "Heh!" So, before I have a chance to explain, she replys "Oh, thank you!" I nearly lost it! I guess the good thing in all this, is that he doesn't seem to feel too bad. At least he's remembering his words!!!!

Christmas is over and I had a blast!

Well, the holidays are over and Mommy and I are sad about it. No more Christmas music, no more Christmas lights, and no more having Daddy home all the time. I had the best time! I LOVE Christmas! I don't really care about the gifts...what I like is all the hub bub! It's so much fun! So much fun in fact, that I couldn't go to sleep on Christmas night. After having only a 45 minute afternoon nap, I was exhausted, but too wound up to sleep. Mommy tried to put me down at 7pm, but I cried for TWO HOURS! Then finally they got me out of bed. I wanted in my toybox that I got for Christmas that day. But Mommy and Daddy knew better. They only let me play with one car, and Daddy put a blanket over the toybox so that I couldn't get into it. After 5 minutes of that, I decided it was time for bed after all! Then last Saturday when the extended Roberts family got together, I stayed up till 10:30pm! I had a blast. I just walked around while everyone opened their gifts and picked up stuff, of course put on a show for anyone willing to watch. Here are are some pics of the greatest time of my life! I hope you like them!
Here's my new toybox that Mimi and Grandad gave me! They added my name and decals to the sides! Isn't it awesome?!
Woah! My new bike that Mommy and Daddy gave me! I love it! Mommy and Daddy love it because they can push and steer from behind!
This was me during the holidays. I was in Grandad's arms as often as possible! I can't get enough of him right now!
"Robot?"I asked about robots all during the month of December, so Mommy and Daddy got me one for Christmas! I love it!
Here I am in my wagon that my Aunt Susan and Uncle David gave me! I love this thing. I beg to go for a walk in it all the time. It's awesome! Thanks also to Mimi and Grandad for the new camera they gave Mom and Dad. It's the Nikon D50! It takes awesome pics. Mom and Dad have been taking all kinds of pictures of me! I think Mommy said they were at 300 pics just since Christmas morning!!!!!

I'm a happy boy. Really!

Ok, I don't like strangers, and yes that means Santa too. I walked up to him alright, but as soon as Mommy put me in his lap, I couldn't contain my tears. I know he brings toys to girls and boys all over the world, but he's still a big guy that I don't know. Maybe next year... In the mean time, at least Mommy and Daddy don't have to worry about me running off with a stranger...well, at least not too much.
I have, however, had a really great first year of life! I LOVE life. I love to smile and I do it a lot. Mommy is really looking forward to Christmas this year. She says she didn't decorate the house last year because I was young and she was pooped! She did put up the tree, but that was it. This year, she's going all out! I'm looking forward to seeing all the pretty decorations and trees. This is the first of many magical Christmas seasons to come, and she is so so so excited about it. She is very happy and thankful to have the family that she has always dreamed of. She feels like the luckiest girl around to have such a wonderful kid (that'd be me!) and amazing husband. Her life couldn't be better and she sometimes has to pinch herself to make sure she's not dreaming. But she's not...I'm really that great!!!!
Well, here are some more pics for you to enjoy! See, I really am a happy boy!

Happy Birthday Big Guy!
We missed Conan's birthday party because I was sick. But I just wanted to say...

You've grown soooo much, soooo fast! I can't believe how much you've changed from when I held you as a precious newborn in my arms at the hospital. You are a great kid, and even though I have no right to be, I'm proud of you. Stay good!

Trick or Treat!
Well yesterday was Jake's first time to go trick or treating. And mine too! Yes, mine too. I wasn't allowed when I was a kid. So I was soooo excited. Jake had a really good time. Everyone kept saying that was cute. The best quote all night was "that is too cool for school man." And that was from an Aggie, so that's saying a lot! He also experienced his first lolipop last night! He LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. Did I mention he loved it? He was covered in sticky drool! Too cute. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics!

Here comes the sugar high!
These are pics from the Aroboretum. Can you believe all the pumpkins? Jake and Kierstyn had a lot of fun running around! It was sooooo beautiful.
